Get answers to common questions about Micro-needling.
Micro-needling creates controlled micro-injuries that trigger the skin's repair response. This increases collagen and elastin production, improving texture, softening fine lines and scars over time. Results appear gradually and typically improve with a series of treatments and proper aftercare.
Most clients experience mild discomfort mitigated by topical numbing cream. Expect redness, mild swelling, and sensitivity for 24–72 hours. Downtime is minimal; many return to light activities quickly while avoiding heavy exercise and makeup until skin calms.
Treatment plans vary, but most clients benefit from three to six sessions spaced four to six weeks apart. Deeper scars or pronounced wrinkles may require additional sessions; your clinician will tailor a protocol based on skin type and treatment goals.
Common temporary effects include redness, pinpoint bleeding, swelling, and mild peeling. Serious risks are rare with sterile technique but can include infection or post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. We screen for contraindications and follow strict protocols to minimize complications.
Ideal candidates seek improvement in fine lines, acne scarring, texture irregularities, or enlarged pores and generally have healthy skin. Not suitable for active infections, recent isotretinoin use, certain skin conditions, or keloid tendency. A consultation determines candidacy and personalized care.
Avoid retinoids, exfoliants, and prolonged sun exposure for several days before treatment. Afterward, use gentle cleansers, hydrating serums, and broad-spectrum sunscreen. Avoid makeup for 24 hours and intense exercise for 48 hours. Follow your clinician’s specific pre- and post-care instructions.
